United Nations Convention on Commerce and Improvement (UNCTAD) Africa Internship Program 2022 –

This place is positioned within the Regional Workplace for Africa (RoA) of the Division for Africa, Least Developed Nations and Special Uses (ALDC). The internship will start on July 18, 2022 for a provisional period of two months.

The void is for an internship at the United Nations Convention on Commerce and Improvement in Addis Ababa. No work should be expected in the entire UN after an internship. Interns are usually ineligible for or appointed to skilled and senior positions within the Secretariat for a six-month interval after the end of their internship. Tasks

While performing his/her duties under the supervision of the Financial Affairs Officer of the Regional Workplace for Africa, the trainee will fulfill the following capacities:

– Assistance in organizing press conferences, briefings and conferences with Member States, RECs, companions, MPs and stakeholders
– Assistance in organizing dissemination actions for the analysis of UNCTAD
– Help with setting up information objects and updating social media accounts
– Analysis of current issues on the African continent related to UNCTAD’s mandate
– Assistance in seeking out current and new related information, analysis papers on points related to UNCTAD’s mandate
– Help create ready-made briefing notes and workshop stories
– Attend and assist in summarizing conferences and conferences as desired
– Help identify initiatives and key meetings at Africa and regional level for UNCTAD to participate in (with UN, African Improvement Financial institution, Afriexim Financial institution, AfCFTA Secretariat)
– updating and improving information within the workplace databases, conducting web analysis and catalog information related to the work of UNCTAD;
– Assistance with the maintenance of ROA’s digital communications sent to stakeholders along with UNCTAD communications and outreach articles
– All different assigned tasks

Education

The United Nations Internship Program is designed to engage students or current graduates at the United Nations to enhance their teaching expertise and help them gain expertise within the work of the Group. (a) are enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate faculty program (second school diploma or equivalent, or higher); or,
