The Queen’s University Belfast International PhD Awards

The Queen’s University Belfast is inviting applications for international PhD Awards worth over £300,000 commencing their studies in 2018. The awards are open to all international students who meet the eligibility criteria.

Queen’s is committed to welcoming students from all over the world and helping them achieve their ambitions.

Guest lecture/university:

Today, Queen’s University Belfast is an international center for research and education and an important part of the fabric of Northern Ireland.

Queen’s University will continue to accept the IELTS Academic (both SELT and non-SELT) and TOEFL Internet tests for direct admission into undergraduate and postgraduate courses, if completed within the past two years.

Educational attainment:

Awards are available to pursue a PhD program.

Field of study:

Awards are available within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (AHSS).

Scholarship price:

Each prize is worth approximately £20,000. The award cannot be exchanged or transferred to assist with other costs associated with a PhD study at QUB and cannot be held in conjunction with any other funded university study.

Nationalities:

Price only available to international students – i.e. students must be classified as an international paying student paying the international tuition rate to be eligible for this scheme. Students paying NI/GB/EU fees are not eligible for international scholarships.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for this scholarship you must meet the following requirements:

Applicants must have applied to a school within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at Queen’s University Belfast and applicants must have received an offer of a place from a school within the AHSS Faculty to be eligible for this scheme. Applicants must insert the code INTACC18 under the funding section on the Direct Application Portal if they wish to be considered for this award. Applicants cannot receive any other funding to support their PhD research. Only new international applicants are allowed to apply. Current international students already enrolled in a QUB program are not eligible. Students must be classified as an international paying student paying the international tuition rate to be eligible for this scheme. Students paying NI/GB/EU fees are not eligible for international scholarships.

English Language Requirements:

Universities have the freedom to choose the methods by which they assess students’ English proficiency. Queen’s University continues to accept the IELTS Academic (both SELT and non-SELT) and TOEFL Internet tests for direct admission into undergraduate and postgraduate courses, if completed within the past two years.
