Job Title: Scottish Student Tennis Community Engagement Officer
Responsible for: SS Tennis Chair
Where (location): Various within Scotland
Time commitment: Variable: At least 3-4 meetings per year with preferably attendance at 1-5 SS Tennis matches.
Role duration: until June 30, 2023
Scottish Student Sport (SSS), the student sports organization in Scotland, is looking for an energetic and dedicated individual to act as one of the lead volunteers within Scottish Student Tennis.
The Community Engagement Officer will work closely with SSS and Tennis Scotland to agree and communicate the progress of the SS Tennis Development Group’s development plan.
The SS Tennis Development Plan covers a wide range of areas such as competitions, coaching development, club development and publicity. You will help formulate new policies for tennis and may be asked to lead specific projects such as delivering the SS Tennis Landscape Survey and supporting the SS Tennis Coaching Network.
In general, you will be part of a group line-up to represent and develop tennis for students in Scotland.
Main tasks
Contribute to the development of a long-term SS Tennis Sport Development Plan and sport specific policies Work with the group to identify key areas of work for the coming year Identify areas for partnership with Tennis Scotland and their specific goals Stimulate specific outcomes requested of you by Chair Assist analysis of feedback received from the Student Club Landscape Survey to stimulate and adapt the work of the SS Tennis Development Group Support the other SS Tennis Development Group members with their projects, especially those related to your own assignment, for example the SS Tennis Coaches Network

Empathy for student club needs Proactive, can do attitude Experience with student tennis in Scotland Knowledge of the tennis landscape in Scotland Ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders
Training and support available
Annual Chair Development Day hosted by SSS All relevant CPD courses/experience as identified by Chair and Head of Competitions Appointed staff member within SSS

The Community Engagement Officer will be appointed on a voluntary basis until June 30, 2022. Individuals may reapply for the position or any other vacant position at the end of their term of office. All reasonable expenses incurred to perform the position will be reimbursed in accordance with the SSS policy.
