About the Swiss Government Scholarship

The Swiss government awards several postgraduate scholarships to foreign scientists and researchers through the Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students (FCS):

The research grant is available to postdoctoral researchers in any discipline (with a minimum of a master’s degree). Beneficiaries must also plan to come to Switzerland to pursue research or further studies at the doctoral or postgraduate level.

Research grants are awarded for research or study at all Swiss cantonal universities, colleges and the two federal institutes of technology. Only candidates nominated by an academic mentor at one of these higher education institutions will be considered.

Art scholarships are open to art students who wish to pursue an initial master’s degree in Switzerland. Art scholarships are awarded for study at a Swiss conservatory or university of the arts. Only those who have already obtained a study place can apply. This scholarship is only available to students from a limited number of countries.

These scholarships offer graduates from all fields the opportunity to pursue master’s, doctoral or postgraduate research in Switzerland at any of the government-funded universities or recognized institutions. You can also visit our website to read more about related scholarships on our website.

Type: Masters (for the art scholarship), Ph.D. Postdoctoral and Research Fellowships
