Francis H. Brown African Scholarships:
The Leaky Foundation has arranged Francis H. Brown African Scholarships that are now available for application to various motivated East African botanists and earth scientists to pursue education in the US. The scholarship can be used for the 2021-2022 academic year.
The main purpose of the funding is to stimulate the development of scientific curiosity and human knowledge in earth sciences and phytology related to human origin. This goal can be achieved by providing financial support for East African scientists and researchers who aspire to experiment in the given fields.
The Leaking Foundation:
The Leaky Foundation, located in the city of San Francisco, California, is a 501(c)(3) organization. It is the only funding body in the US responsible for allocating investment to human origin education and research.
The Leaky Foundation is motivated to fund scientific research to investigate various aspects of human origins. They are also involved in facilitating the results obtained through these studies with innovative lighting programs. Their mission is to develop and promote scientific knowledge, public knowledge and learning of human origins, evolution, remains and behavior.
Nationalities:
The Scholarship is only available to residents of Kenya, Ethiopia and Eritrea.
Educational attainment:
This scholarship program is for a PhD.
Scholarship Benefits:
An award amount worth up to $25,000 will be awarded by the Leaky Foundation to successful applicants under the Francis H. Brown African Scholarship Program for the academic year 2021-2022.
Eligibility Criteria:
This scholarship is only applicable to students who wish to obtain a PhD from the Leaky Foundation.
Students or researchers must belong to African Heritage and own citizenship of Kenya, Ethiopia or Eritrea.
Candidates must obtain a PhD from an accredited university, preferably from, but not limited to, an institution located in sub-Saharan Africa.
Students wishing to apply for this scholarship must have completed their PhD no more than 6 years ago.
Candidates must commit to pursuing a career in their respective field of study, emphasizing the responsibility of conducting research and teaching in their country of origin after completing their degree.
