Information about Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA)

SINGA is a partnership of the Agency for Science, Technology & Research (A*STAR), the National University of Singapore (NUS), the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), the Singapore Management University (SMU) and the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD).

PhD training will be conducted in the applicant’s selected laboratory at A*STAR Research Institutes, NUS, NTU, SMU or SUTD in English. In these labs, the selected students are supervised by world-renowned and prominent researchers. If you have successfully completed the PhD degree, you will receive a PhD degree from NUS, NTU, SMU or SUTD.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for student grant (financial coverage) for this opportunity, you must demonstrate your eligibility by meeting the criteria below.

The opportunity is open to all international graduates who have a passion for outstanding academic results and research. This opportunity is primarily for international students studying in Singapore for the first time. Proficiency in written and spoken English. Good reports from applicants’ academic referees.

Note: Singapore permanent residents, Singaporeans and international students studying/have studied at the tertiary institutions in Singapore are not eligible to apply.

Financial Coverage for Singapore Government Scholarship 2023

Successful applicants will receive fully funded financial coverage. The support is offered for a maximum of 4 years for PhD research. The coverage includes:

Tuition One-time airfare (up to S$1,500) Monthly stipend of S$2,200 which is increased to S$2,700 (after applicants pass the qualifying exam) One-time settlement fee (up to S$1,000)

Bachelor’s degree(s)/scroll(s) or a certification letter from the university on their candidacy if the degree/scroll has not yet been issued. 2 recommendation reports
