Realme GT2 5G – Unboxing

That time of year has come again when we get some new phones to unpack and review. First, one of this year will be the brand new Realme GT 2 5G that’s hot in the press because it’s only just been announced in Barcelona at MWC 2022.

This is a continuation of last year’s Realme GT brand and it aims to provide great specs and value at a fair and reasonable price. Now the eagle eye of you will read this and say that this phone is old news and you are not entirely wrong in that observation as the phone was announced earlier at the beginning of the year but in its only form in China. Today it was now announced for the European market.

I have the 12GB RAM and 256GB version of the phone for review and in the few days I’ve been using it, the phone felt smooth and snappy. The only time I got stuck was using Android Auto wirelessly, but even the most powerful phones have been known to stutter.

I found the camera quite enjoyable to use and I was able to get some pretty good pictures on a day trip to the zoo, as shown below.

I also gave the camera a nighttime test just after dusk and it wasn’t too bad.

As for the phone’s UI, I’m very happy to report that one of the biggest bugbears I’ve had with a realme device I used has been resolved. I can now add multiple of the same instances of widgets, Hazzuh!!

So that’s me just scraping the surface of the Realme GT 2 5G I think this is going to be a fun phone and I look forward to getting to know it a little better in the coming days and weeks as I wrap up my review.
