The scheme has been developed to provide candidates with the opportunity to take advantage of a diversified pool of knowledge and the facilities offered by world-class institutions around the world. On this basis, candidates are invited to apply through PTDF for specific programs at the partner institutions. The award includes the provision of airfare, payment of health insurance, payment of tuition and bank charges (if applicable), and the provision of allowances to meet housing and living expenses. For the 2022/2023 award, applications are limited to PTDF partner universities in the UK, Germany, France and Malaysia where it believes the high standards of the scholarship can be maintained and the objectives of the scheme will best be served. Selection process, criteria and requirements
PTDF scholarships are highly competitive and only candidates who are outstanding across the board will be selected. Based on the qualifications submitted, the best candidates for each category from each state will be invited for an interview in which a selection committee is formed to review applications using the following criteria: Academic merit as evidenced by the quality of degrees, full academic transcripts, and other acquired professional qualificationsRelevant publications to be referred to by the applicant. Membership of professional bodies. Viability of the study/research plan.
Requirements
Must have completed the compulsory National Youth Service (NYSC) Must be computer literate A minimum of Second Class Lower (2.2) in their first degree and a good Second degree certificate A research proposal relevant to the oil and gas industry (of no more than five pages) to include : Subject, Introduction, Objective, Methodology and Method of Data Collection All lecturers must provide a letter from their Vice-Chancellor confirming that they are not receiving any other scholarship. Applicants must have a National Identity Number (NIN) before applying for the scholarship. Applicants should note that they must verify their NIN before proceeding with the application (NIMC verification fees will apply).
