Old Mutual Investment Group Imfundo Trust Scholarship

The Imfundo Trust is a scholarship initiative of the Old Mutual Investment Group that aims to provide funding to students with a particular interest in the investment sector and thus support its transformation.

Imfundo means education in Nguni and true to its name, since its inception in 2011, the Trust has been helping black students, especially women, to continue their tertiary education at selected South African universities.

What it covers

The Imfundo Trust Scholarships provide funding to study full-time for undergraduate and select postgraduate courses at selected universities in South Africa.

Selection criteria

Only applications from South African citizens will be considered. Applicants who are in their first year next year must have achieved an average of at least 70% in the Grade 12 interim examinations and a minimum of 70% in Mathematics and 70% in English FAL or 60% in English HL. Scholarships are only available to applicants who are in their first or second year in 2023, with the exception of climate studies. Applicants currently in their first year must have achieved an average of 65% and above in the final exams (mid-year/June). Applicants with a rural and urban background will be preferred.

Selection

Interviews will be conducted with applicants who meet the shortlisted requirements, and the Board of Directors will consider any other relevant factors when making the final decision on awarding the scholarships. The Imfundo Trust reserves the right to amend or withdraw any grant amount awarded in any terms of this application, should you be a beneficiary of other financial assistance (e.g. grants, grants, loans, grants, awards, etc.).

How to apply?

Applications must be completed on StudyTrust’s online application platform by September 30 to be eligible for next year’s scholarship. Only applications from South African citizens will be considered.
