New Student Sports Reporter: Grace Hamilton

My name is Grace Hamilton and I am delighted to join the Bond Newsroom as a sports reporter.

In this new role, I’m excited to write about Bull Sharks’ victories on and off the field (and on the track). Bondsport is filled with dedicated athletes, coaches and volunteers, and I hope to shed light on those who contribute to our success.

In September, my sixth semester will be Journalism and I plan to complete my studies in early 2023.

Sports is in my blood. Although I come from Stockleigh, a semi-rural town on the outskirts of Brisbane that is not known for its sport, as a child I have always had a passion for competitions and winning.

In high school I decided to dedicate my hard work to Netball, and slowly I rose up the ranks. From 2019-2021 I was part of the HSS Ruby Series, representing Bond rival Carina Leagues Club Tigers.

Over the past 18 months, on many occasions I have been able to connect my love of sports and writing to produce articles on women in sport and HSS round match reports.

This experience has fueled my interest in sports journalism as a profession and has provided me with valuable experience that I look forward to building on here in the Bond Newsroom.
