Tell me about the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) Kenya Female Engineering Sponsorship Program:
The National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) annually sponsors twenty-five (25) Kenyan female students from needy backgrounds to take engineering courses at the craft and diploma level in an effort to reduce gender inequality in engineering/technical courses as part of its Social Investing. As a result of this positive action, this program started in 2006 and to date more than 270 young Kenyan female students have benefited from it.

1. Mechanical Engineering
2. Agricultural Engineering
3. Electrical/Electronics
4. Automotive
5. Surveying
6. Construction/Civil Engineering

Who can apply for the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) Kenya Female Engineering Sponsorship Program?
The Authority is inviting applications from Kenyan women of four leavers from Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASAL) areas who wish to take technical courses at the craft and diploma level. These fringe areas include: Mandera, Turkana, Lamu, Wajir, West Pokot, Kwale, Ijara, Tana River, Garissa, Isiolo, Marsabit, Samburu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Suba, Kajiado, Kilifi, Taita Taveta, Teso, Mt. Elgon, Kitui, Mwingi, Tharaka, Mbeere, Transmara, Makueni, Kuria and Marigat.
Applicants must be willing to learn and have an aptitude for an engineering career in addition to the following minimum academic requirements:-
Diploma- KCSE-Minimum Mean Grade of C (Plain), with at least (C+ Plus) in Physics and English
Craft- KCSE-minimum average grade of D+ (plus), with at least C- (minus) in Mathematics D+ (plus) in Physics and English.

The successful applicants will be sponsored for training in various public technical training institutions from May 2022.
Only women who meet the above requirements and are from the above areas can apply for sponsorship by:
1. Submit a handwritten justification of no more than three hundred (300) words demonstrating why they deserve the training and sponsorship.
2. Applicants must attach copies of academic certificates, testimonials and national ID card.
3. Applicants must select ANY TWO courses from the various clusters below.
