Tell me about the Kenya Teachers Service Commission (TSC) internship:
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) is an independent commission established under Article 237 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010. In accordance with the Government’s Apprenticeship Policy, the Commission intends to provide apprenticeships to qualified youth in legal affairs to help him/her enable her to have practical work experience that will improve competences and competitiveness in his/her career.

Who can apply for an internship with the Kenya Teachers Service Commission (TSC)?
1. Academic/Professional Qualifications
a) Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university in Kenya
b) Post Graduate Diploma Certificate in Law from Kenya School of Law
c) KCSE certificate or its equivalent
d) Proficiency in computer applications
2. Ability to research and provide legal advice
3. Fluent in written and spoken English and Kiswahili
4. Be a Kenyan youth between 21 and 35 years old
5. Must have completed their training and be admitted to the Bar within one (1) year
6. Should not have done an internship at another organization
7. Must provide a certificate of good conduct during the selection
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
1) Must be a person of integrity.
2) Must be goal oriented, dynamic, self directed and diligent person.
3) Must have good interpersonal, communication skills and a
team player.

What is the benefit of an internship with the Kenya Teachers Service Commission (TSC)?
This is a non-paying position but the selected interns will be given an allowance of twenty five thousand (Kshs.25,000) per month.
How long does the program last?
The internship is for a period of twelve (12) months.

Candidates who meet the above requirements must submit their applications by Thursday, March 31, 2022. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
Remark
This is purely an Internship Program for a maximum period of one year and does not lead to automatic employment at the TSC.
The selected intern must have personal accident insurance to cover personal risks during the internship period. They must also have medical insurance from the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) or other reputable medical insurance company.
