Johannesburg Water (SOC) Ltd was established in 2000 as a municipal entity wholly owned by the City of Johannesburg. It is a R13.3 billion turnover company and employs more than 2700 people, and its main purpose is to provide water and sanitation services to approximately 5.87 million people.

Scholarship opportunities 2022

In line with the company’s talent management strategy, Johannesburg Water offers comprehensive scholarships to students for full-time studies at accredited institutions. Scholarships are offered each year in specific areas of study that meet the specific needs and skill requirements of the company

Applicants must meet the following minimum eligibility criteria before applying:

South African citizen or permanent resident Studying at a recognized tertiary institution. Never had a scholarship or other funding (excluding NSFAS)

Certified Identity DocumentOfficial Statement of ResultsFull academic record to dateCertified copies of Identity Documents of parent(s) or guardian(s)Copies of parent(s)/guardian(s) salary advice or affidavit if they are unemployedProof of enrollment/admission from the institution

Requirements: Students must be South African or permanently resident in South Africa and study full-time at an accredited tertiary institution. Bursars are required to enter into a contractual employment contract with Johannesburg Water upon completion of their studies.

Johannesburg Water will ensure that its selection and recruitment process is in line with its workforce capacity and in line with its EE plan. Preference is given to women and people with disabilities.
