About Scholarships: For decades, Mexican cultural diplomacy has worked in several successful programs such as the training of human capital through scholarships for the award of academic degrees and research work in various fields of knowledge.
The Directorate-General for Educational and Cultural Cooperation, through the Department of Academic Exchange, designs and manages the Foreign Affairs Scholarship Program of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Mexican Government Scholarships offers two programs: the Academic Studies Scholarship and the Special Programs Scholarship.
The academic studies scholarships are offered to pursue complete programs of specialization, masters or PhD degrees and postgraduate studies. Likewise, the offer includes academic mobility for undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. On the other hand, the special program scholarships are offered to pursue short-term scholarships addressed to visiting professors, researchers in Mexico’s troubles, media contributors, art production scholarships, etc.

Selection Criteria and Eligibility: The scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic excellence.
Applicants must hold a bachelor’s, master’s or Ph.D. Diploma, as required by the program for which the scholarship is being applied for. Technical and/or commercial titles are not accepted. For mobility at the bachelor level, it is not necessary to submit a diploma, only a proof of study of the last completed academic period, issued by the institution of origin. Candidates cannot reside in Mexico at the time of application. Applicants must have a minimum grade point average of . have achieved
eighty (80), on a scale of 0 to 100, or the equivalent, for last academic degree obtained. Applications with a lower average grade will not be considered. The scholarships are non-transferable and cannot be deferred to future years.
