GameSir T4 Mini – Review

I received the Gamesir T4 Mini wireless controller, a smaller version of the hugely successful T4 series controller with a more compact and lighter design. Ideal for traveling and people with smaller hands. With built-in 6-axis gyro and asymmetrical dual motors, the T4 mini is compatible with Switch, Android, iOS phones and PC.

Perfectly suited for Switch in multiplayer gaming, the T4 offers an excellent gaming experience with its built-in 6-axis gyro and asymmetrical dual motors that allow for more motion inputs, such as tilt and rotate, for a more active and immersive experience. The asymmetrical dual motors create different and non-monotonic vibration effects on the left and right grips, delivering lively vibration feedback for racing, fighting and shooting games. It was a shame that this vibration didn’t pass when playing my favorite mobile game Call Of Duty Mobile

Good points :-

Good tactile feel for buttons/pads Charging via USB type-C. Works seamlessly with Android/Apple and even Nintendo Switch. Price. Good build quality. Good battery life. Internal LED lighting Vibration motors.

Bad points :-

Switching between Bluetooth channels can be a bit of a faff. Garbage app. Occasionally disconnected.

Specifications:-

In use :-

Connecting the T4 to your device is easy. There’s a pairing button on the back with the standard flashing lights to show it’s searching, and it hooks up really quickly. It also has a USB-C port for charging or connecting to your Switch dock if you’re having trouble connecting wirelessly for whatever reason.

Measuring just L 5.63″×W 3.27″, smaller hands can hold the controller more comfortably with less fatigue, but I have fairly large hands and didn’t find it uncomfortable for extended use.

You can set up the T4 Mini with multiple turbo setups to perform fast firing actions without having to continuously tap the buttons to stop finger pain while protecting the gamepad. Options include manual turbo, auto turbo, one key turbo cancel, and all key turbo cancel, allowing gamers to change their preferences depending on the game they are playing.

While the controller is very lightweight, it doesn’t feel as plastic-like as some, and it’s quite sturdy. It has a nice matte finish and a grainy texture that feels great in your palm. However, as it is both portable and light visible through the plastic, it feels a bit hollow and may be a bit too light for some players.

The edge of the Thumb sticks is ribbed which is almost invisible to the eye, but makes a huge difference to the tactile feel and control when using the controller.

The X, Y, A and B buttons are clear plastic with the letters deep below the surface, giving a unique and aesthetic look. Both the buttons and triggers feel responsive and have a good sense of tactility when clicked. The X and Y buttons have been raised slightly to compensate for the curvature of the controller, which was a nice touch and makes it more comfortable.

While playing I had to remap some buttons for Call Of Duty Mobile, but it easily played as well as my Glap controller which is nearly three times the price of the T4 Mini. I used the T4 mini to play my arcade classics with RetroArch and there was no need to remap and it was literally pick up and play.

The T4 comes with 4 kinds of backlight on the joystick, which allows gamers to customize the color and modes of the backlight to create a different game atmosphere in different scenarios, whether tense or relaxing, to create a more immersive gaming experience. Mode options include static (9 colors optional, blue, red, green, yellow, cyan, orange, purple, pink, and rainbow), 8-color cycle breath, rainbow breath, and off.

The T4 mini has a built-in 600 mAh battery to provide up to 10 hours of gaming from a short 3 hour charge, and I found this to be comparable in my usage. The T4 has an automatic sleep mode that extends battery life.

T4 mini is available on AliExpress for just £23 with a £4.52 and £26.31 coupon on the GameSir website with Amazon expected to be in stock by mid-November.

Conclusion :-

The T4 mini is a great controller at an exceptional price that can be used on a wide range of platforms and even the Nintendo Switch, it is small and lightweight and packed with features not found on more expensive controllers, LED lights and vibration motors.

Christmas is approaching and the T4 Mini will be a great stocking stuffer for a gamer in your life.
