About the Department of Correctional Services
The Department of Correctional Services is a branch of the South African government. It is responsible for managing the South African prison system.

Applicants should note that further checks will be made once they are shortlisted and their nomination is conditional on positive results on these checks including security clearance, security screening, qualification verification and criminal records verification. The appointment to some of these posts is provisional, pending the issuance of a security clearance. If you can’t get a security clearance, your
appointment will be reconsidered/possibly terminated. Fingerprints can be taken on the day of interviews

Only a comprehensive CV, proof of identity and/or driver’s license should be attached to your application form. Only shortlisted candidates must submit certified copies not older than 6 months worth of qualifications and other related documents on or before the day of the interview.
