About the Department of Correctional Services
The Department of Correctional Services is a branch of the South African government. It is responsible for managing the South African prison system.

Applicants should note that further checks will be made once they are shortlisted and their nomination is conditional on positive results on these checks including security clearance, security screening, qualification verification and criminal records verification. The appointment to some of these posts is provisional, pending the issuance of a security clearance. If you are unable to obtain a security clearance, your appointment will be reconsidered/possibly terminated. Fingerprints may be taken on the day of the interviews.

Applications must be submitted on the new Z83 (Public Service Application Form) form available from any Department of Public Service and completed in full. Only a detailed resume should accompany your application form. Only shortlisted candidates must submit certified copies not older than 6 months worth of qualifications and other related documents on or before the day of the interview. For each position you are applying for, please send a separate and complete application, quoting the appropriate reference for each position you are interested in. Applications by fax or e-mail will not be considered.
Applications must reach DCS before the closing date and time. It is the sole responsibility of an applicant to ensure that their application reaches DCS before August 19, 2022 at 3:45 PM.
