Tell me about Kenya Young Professionals Program Competition Authority:

The Competition Authority of Kenya (the Authority) is a statutory agency established under the Competition Act No. 12 of 2010. The mandate of the Authority is to promote and safeguard competition and also to protect consumers from unfair and misleading market conduct.

The Authority conducts a one (1) year Young Professional Program (YPP) to expose participants to competition policy and law enforcement with the aim of motivating and thereby deepening interest and capacity in this field.

The Authority invites applications from suitably qualified applicants for the calendar year 2022.

Who can apply?

Applicants MUST have a master’s degree in law, economics or business from a recognized university and MUST be under thirty (30) years of age

What is the benefit of the competition authority of the Kenya Young Professionals program?

The successful candidates will have a one (1) year training contract and will receive a monthly stipend. At the end of the program, all Young Professionals are required to write a paper on competition policy and legislation before issuing a certificate. Successful professionals can be included in the permanent staff of the Authority based on the availability of a vacancy

Successful candidates must obtain and submit copies of approval certificates from the following agencies before being hired:
a) Kenyan tax authorities
b) Higher Education Loans Council
c) Committee on Ethics and Anti-Corruption.
d) Criminal Investigations Department
e) Credit reference agency
