The Board of Directors of Kano University of Science and Technology, Wudil, hereby informs the general public of both qualified internal and external candidates that the Council has commenced the appointment of a Vice-Chancellor. Applications are hereby invited from interested and suitably qualified candidates for the position of KUST Wudil Vice Chancellor Recruitment.

Preamble: –

The Board of Directors of Kano University of Science and Technology (KUST), Wudil hereby announces that the position of the Vice-Chancellor of the University will be vacant on January 8, 2023. In accordance with Kano University of Science and Technology (KUST), Wudil (Amendment Act) 2017, the council invites applications from interested and suitably qualified internal and external candidates to fill the vacancy.

The University: –

The COAST, Wudil is the pioneering specialized university established by the Kano government in the year 2000. rapidly changing society.

In April 2001 the university started academic activities with 88 students in two (2) faculties. Today, the university has six (6) faculties and a school of postgraduate studies (SPS) with a student population of 18,789 and 1,414 undergraduate and postgraduate students respectively, who have been admitted to 49 and 52 undergraduate and postgraduate academic programs respectively of the university.

As part of its pride and strength, the university has a total of 1,791 employees. Over the years, the university has remained focused to maintain its vision, mission and objectives to consolidate its overall mandate of a specialized university.

The university has centers, directorates and other units to position itself in national and international spheres of education. Recently, for the purpose of rebranding, the government approved the name change of the university to Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUST), Wudil.

The position: –

The Vice Chancellor is the Chief Executive and Accounting Officer of the University. He/she is responsible for the municipal council for maintaining efficiency, good order and is concerned with the enforcement of statutes, laws and regulations of the university. He/she is also expected to promote academic standard in research, teaching, learning and community service; and be responsible to the council for the day-to-day management of the university’s human, financial and material resources.

The Vice-Chancellor shall serve for a single term of five (5) years only under such terms as may be specified in the letter of appointment and which may also be determined from time to time by the Government and the Board of Directors.

Candidate to be nominated for the position:

Be a professor Proven integrity Have the required qualities and qualifications to provide dynamic leadership at the university Have a proven intellectual standing with the requisite credentials certifying outstanding academic and other achievements Be a man of honor and integrity Have a personality likely to be respected will receive from staff and students of the university be morally upright and able to conduct the administration of the university with justice, fairness and fairness be a man of distinction who can make right decisions and follow established procedures be proficient in informational and communication technology (ICT) are in good health and free from monetary shame

Applications must be submitted under confidential cover in an envelope marked in the upper left corner “Application for the post of “Vice Chancellor, KUST, Wudil” to reach the Registrar, Kano University of Science and Technology, Wudil, PMB 3244, Kano, Kano State , Nigeria no later than six (6) weeks from the date of this advertisement i.e. Monday 22nd August 2022.

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted and the University is under no obligation to enter into correspondence with an applicant for the position. The candidate must not be older than 65 years by 8 January 2023 at the latest.
