To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must demonstrate eligibility. Scholarships are awarded to applicants who:

Are international citizens except New Zealand. They must not hold Australian citizenship, Australian permanent resident status, or New Zealand citizenship. Ae intended to pursue full-time higher education (higher degree through research) in Australia for the first time (in the academic year for which the scholarship is awarded/offered). Started their higher degrees through research last year, but happened to be unable to apply for AGRTPS in that year due to the timing of their admission application, or those who started researching their higher degrees and then finished their enrollment within 6 months can also be considered . Please register in the field of research concentration. The areas in which the university is particularly strong and has concentrated its research resources and also attracted external funding. Meet all the requirements for admission to a higher degree through examination, including English proficiency requirements as per the requirements of: English Language Proficiency for HDR Candidature.

Financial advantages

Under AGRTPS, the successful applicants will receive a stipend at the standard rate set by the Government of Australia. The elected students will receive $28,854 per year tax-free (2022 full-time rate). Australian Government Research Training Program Scholarship (AGRTPS) also includes a Research Training Program (RTP) which provides tuition compensation to the students for the duration of (up to) 4 years.

The students, who come to Adelaide from abroad, are also eligible for a settlement allowance (after arrival in Flinders) of up to $1485 for assistance with airfare and relocation costs once the students have receipts thereof.
