The National Empowerment Fund (NEF) funds black entrepreneurs to create real economic empowerment for black people. It assists existing and start-up companies with non-financial business support and also helps them financially through various funds including the Women Empowerment Fund; Imbewu Fund; COVID-19 Corporate Fund; Umnotho Fund, Rural, Township and Community Development Fund; Fund Strategic Projects; art and culture venture capital fund; and Tourism Transformational Fund.
How can you apply for funding from the National Empowerment Fund (NEF)?
Visit www.nefcorp.co.za and click on the ‘financing solutions’ tab. Do a needs assessment for yourself and your company by reading and understanding all nine funds the NEF offers. Click on ‘how to apply for financing’, under the ‘financing solutions’ tab at the top of the page . Download and complete an application form to submit your business case for assessment. You must include a proposal that contains information that can make your business profitable. A business plan guideline is provided on the application form to highlight several topics to cover when submitting your submission. Submit your application to applications@nefcorp.co.za. Once your application is received, it will be reviewed and the NEF will provide you with feedback.
