The oil and gas industry | Youth Empowerment Program YEP was founded in 2008 on the principle that every young person in Africa and abroad should have access to preliminary skills training and employment in order to thrive in the global economy.

YEP is a mindset-changing program that has transformed a large number of young people in Africa and the world at large. This project has helped manage the global economic crises by engaging inactive youth in meaningful jobs. The YEP SA project is aimed at South African youth who have little or no education with a verifiable South African identity number and must be 18-35 years old. This program has paved the way for poverty alleviation by creating opportunities for young and growing minds in Africa and around the worldBeneficiaries of the Oil and Gas Industries | Youth Empowerment Program YEP is entitled to an inclusive monthly stipend of R11,228. The project is co-funded by the Oil and Gas Industries Inc. , with OEMs; The Petroleum Oil and Gas Corporation of South Africa (PetroSA), Sasol Limited, Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC), Chevron Corporation, Efora Energy Limited, Africa Oil Corp, Petrobras Oil, Total Global, The South African Oil & Gas Alliance (SAOGA ), KCA Deutag, Oando Plc and Exxonmobil Corporation as major sponsors.
