A fantastic opportunity exists at Tricycle Lane Ranches Ltd. (TLR) for a full-time, permanent Financial Accountant to work out of our brand-new corporate headquarters in Northeast Calgary, Alberta.
TLR is the 110-year-old sister company of BURNCO Rock Products Ltd (BURNCO), a construction materials company, and the 25-year-old property management and land acquisition division of BURNCO.
You can build solid working relationships both internally within the team and externally by having good communication skills (both verbal and written).
You have a good sense of detail and a drive to delve deeper into the data while remaining cognizant of the deadlines and time constraints you must work under.

What Your Duties as a Financial Accountant Will Entail
Create general ledger entries for investments, dividends, interest, corporate taxes, prepaid assets, intercompany transfers, fixed assets, and any other applicable general ledger accounts.
Prepare monthly account reconciliations for capital assets, prepaid assets, intercompany balances, credit card bills, bank accounts, and more.
aid in the preparation of annual tax filings by corporate tax advisors
As concerns and accounting policies develop, draft memoranda about them.
assist with paying vendors, including signing checks and using EFT or wire transfers
synchronize quarterly, yearly, and monthly files and payments for company taxes and GST.
Maintain communication with the CRA regarding company taxes, GST, and payroll taxes.
Prepare and finish all workers’ semi-monthly payroll, including CRA reporting.
control the company’s health and wellbeing program
On a need-to-know basis, review and authorize staff expenses (such per diem costs, educational compliance, use of corporate vehicles and other stipends, etc.).
Complete any additional job-related tasks tasked to you by the controller/cfo and management.
What is Required of a Financial Accountant and What Should You Bring?
Bachelor’s degree in accounting with the designation CA, CGA, CMA, or CPA
at least three plus years of accounting experience
comprehensive understanding of GAAP, including US GAAP and ASPE
Advanced ability with Microsoft Excel, including a track record of using and constructing pivot tables
Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all organizational levels Prior accounting system experience is preferred
