FinTrU, a regulatory solutions company, will create 300 jobs for Letterkenny over the next five years with the establishment of its new European Delivery Center.
Founded in 2013 and headquartered in Belfast, FinTrU designs technology-based solutions for investment banks around the world. FinTrU currently employs more than 1,000 people worldwide, 300 of whom are at the Co. Derry work.
The company is currently recruiting in the areas of compliance, legal and operations. It has also launched a graduate recruitment program, the FinTrU Financial Services Academy, with applications now being accepted. Candidates are considered from all fields of study.
This project is supported by the Irish government through IDA Ireland.
“This is without a doubt a red letter day for Letterkenny,” said IDA Ireland chief executive Martin Shanahan. “This investment, which will create 300 jobs in this region, is hugely important. It represents FinTrU’s confidence in the Northwest and will be a major boost to the local economy. I wish FinTrU every success with this expansion.”
“We are thrilled to announce the news of our regional expansion in Northwest with the creation of our Letterkenny site,” said FinTrU Founder and CEO, Darragh McCarthy. “FinTrU has had a great relationship with the North West region, having established our Derry/Londonderry office in October 2018, currently employing over 300 employees at this location.
“We already employ several people from Letterkenny and the wider county of Donegal, so it was a natural step for us to open an EU delivery office here in Letterkenny. The highly educated and ambitious talent living here in Donegal was a major motivator for FinTrU to choose Letterkenny as the next EU base. This new location will further support FinTrU as we continue to partner with the largest international investment banks around the world.
“FinTrU has developed a great partnership over the years with IDA Ireland, Donegal County Council, Donegal Education & Training Board (ETB) and the Atlantic Technological University and we are excited to work with them over the next few years to realize this project . ”
